The Maggie Valley Location

Maggie Valley is a unique place that is located in western North Carolina. One of the most unique parts of this area is that of the Maggie Valley location. This is a location that is unique in that it is right near a large mountain area and an Indian reservation among other unique places.

 
It is an amazing location that makes this part of western North Carolina even more amazing.

Maggie Valley is located in western North Carolina in Haywood County. This is about thirty-five miles west of Asheville, the closest notable city. As a result this valley is rather far from any major cities and is very rural in nature. This is an area that is also right near the border between North Carolina and Tennessee. Maggie Valley is about ten miles away from the border at its closest point.

US Route 19 is the only major road that goes through Maggie Valley. This adds to the rural status of the valley. This route can be accessed off of Interstate 40 to its east and US Route 441 on the northwestern part of the area.

Maggie Valley is located right along the Appalachian Mountains. This is one of the largest mountain ranges in the world in that it goes from Alabama all the way up to New Brunswick. The part of these mountains that Maggie Valley is closest to is the Great Smoky Mountains part. This subrange is one that is prominently in Tennessee but is also in a good part of western North Carolina.

There are many parks and forests that Maggie Valley is located near. The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is located right to the north of Maggie Valley. This is a national park that features hundreds of miles of hiking routes and is home to hundreds of bears and other animals. Maggie Valley is also surrounded by two national forests. On the south Maggie Valley is surrounded by the Nantahala National Forest while it is surrounded on the north and west by the Cherokee National Forest.

This valley is also a few miles east of the Cherokee Indian Reservation. This is a reservation that is home to the Eastern Band of the Cherokee Indians and is home to a major entrance of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It is even home to a casino that is run by Harrah's Entertainment in conjunction with the Cherokee Indians.

The Maggie Valley location is one of the most unique parts of this section of western North Carolina. This place is one that is rural in nature and is distant from many places. It is right near all sorts of different amazing natural sights including the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It is also right next to an Indian reservation. All these factors make Maggie Valley even more amazing.
