The Cataloochee Ski Area – An Exciting Part of Maggie Valley

Thanks to its proximity near various mountain ranges Maggie Valley is a great place to go skiing. One of the best places to go skiing in Maggie Valley is the Cataloochee Ski Area.

 
This is one of the top Maggie Valley attractions thanks to the various exciting features of the ski area.

The Cataloochee Ski Area is a ski area that is open throughout the winter months from November to February with some reduced schedules in parts of March. This is an area that features a top elevation of about 5,400 feet in elevation and features a vertical drop of more than seven hundred feet.

Many different skiing routes are available at this area. There are various routes for beginner skiers and plenty of intermediate level areas including the 1,900-foot long Lower Snowbird route. There are also two different expert routes including the Upper Omigosh route that is at the top of the ski area.

It is very easy to get to any of the parts of the ski area. There are five lifts around the area that cover the entire ski area including one quad and one triple lift.

A tube park is also featured here. A five run snow tubing area is featured with different routes for people of all sorts of age levels.

Many programs are available here as well, thus making this one of the best Maggie Valley attractions for people to check out. A ski school is available here features family lessons and instructions for younger skiers. Private lessons are available by appointment too. These lessons range from beginning instructions to learning how to perform all sorts of more challenging maneuvers.

Another thing that makes this one of the top Maggie Valley attractions is the various lodging options that are available here. Many different cabins are available for rental featuring all sorts of convenient features and rooms with many of these cabins having rental rates of less than a hundred dollars per person per day.

Ski passes are also very affordable. Lift tickets are less than thirty dollars in most cases on weekdays and about fifty dollars on weekends. Different tickets are available for day, half-day, twilight and night skiing sessions as well as full-day tickets. Equipment rentals are also available.

The Cataloochee Ski Area is one of the best Maggie Valley attractions to visit in the area. This ski area features all sorts of different skiing routes and even a tube park. It also offers various programs for those who are new to skiing or want to improve on their skiing skills. Various cabins are also available for people to rent.
